Halloween is the favourite time of year for many of the Residents at Fleetwood Hall Care Home, they enjoy being able to dress up, get their face painted and take part in the arts and crafts organised by our in house Activity Team.
This year, the Chef made toffee apples and a lovely lunch for everyone to enjoy whilst they started designing their scarecrows for the up coming competition. The Residents were provided with a bag of goodies including clothes, paint and arts and crafts to make the most chilling scarecrow they could. The residents designs were brilliantly executed with the support of the staff and were displayed outside of the home ready for the spookiest night of the year! This definitely caused a stir in the local community with many passersby commenting on the spooky scarecrows.
Later in the day the residents took part in a spooky themed quiz, dunked for doughnuts and displayed their menacing carved pumpkins. A further competition was held in teams to see who could dress the nominated staff members up as scary Mummy’s the quickest.
Overall it was a lovely day, it created a buzz around the home and encouraged the residents to engage with one another, even it was for telling ghost stories!
