Venturi Health Care Group promote an active life style at Fleetwood Hall Care Home, Southport and January has been no different!
Residents dusted off their Christmas blues with a fun filled month of in house activities and day trips. At the beginning of the month residents wrapped up in their gloves and scarves for a trip to Crosby beach, they walked along the sea front and enjoyed a hot pork pie and chips for lunch. It was a cold but bright day and everyone managed to keep warm with a flask of hot tea or hot chocolate. Later in the week, a number of residents and staff visited the Slavery Museum and the Maritime Museum in Liverpool before tucking in to a lovely lunch at a café on the docks. The outing was finished off on the journey home listening to a number of classics from Abba and Elvis.
A number of residents have a passion for cooking and therefore on the 10th January the home organised a chef day were they set about making some lavish desserts for everyone to enjoy. The prepping and design stage for the strawberry and marshmallow dessert was extremely important to ensure the presentation was at its best and the end result reflects the hard work and devotion to ensuring the desserts were top of the range.
Mark Higginson, Operations Director of Venturi Health Care Group says:
“In line with our recent positive CQC inspection, Fleetwood Hall’s staff team are continuing to drive up the quality and number of activities that take place in and outside of the home. I am also looking forward to the line up of activities that will take place following the final set of OOMPH! training taking place this week, I hope we will see a number of innovative and stimulating events taking place. Thank you to the staff team at Fleetwood Hall for creating a fun, active environment.”
